Those Ole School Day Blues

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Well, it’s that time of year!

The beaches are emptying, the pools are quieter, the kids are all locked up in prison– I mean, school, — and the few people remaining are all college-age babes in bikinis! Whose says September is all bad? Are you kidding me? I still have 2 whole weeks of scopin’! And then it’s back to campus to do more of the same. Granted, being here in the NW means they all go to jeans soon… but thank God they all wear them tight.

Heh heh. I may start wearing mine tight, too. I mean, come on, who don’t want a piece of this? =D

Saying What We Are Unable to Say

Writing a 4Komathought is hard, did you know that? It’s almost as difficult for me to do as completing a 4Komatose issue…

Despite some slightly under-par work on Kyushu, I’m pretty happy with this issue, especially since it was completed in only a day and a half. I’m especially happy with the rework of this new girly-type character who has been waiting to make an appearance for nigh unto three years now (for those of you who are counting, yes, that puts her wait time as starting before we actually started the comic). As is, some of the reworking was still going on as late as 11:30 last night, when I finally made the decision (with Scott’s blessing, I think) to make the change from pink hair to…auburn? hazel? Hard to pinpoint what that color actually is… For those of you who are interested, there are some examples of the various colors I went through over at my deviantArt gallery. You’ll also find a larger version of panel 4, sans thought balloon.

Ah, panel 4… It makes me laugh every time I look at it… and that’s probably a good thing. If I can laugh at my own work, knowing ahead of time exactly what’s going to happen, then hopefully other people are laughing too.
