Long Time No See

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Hey everyone!

I’m sure at least one of you out there has been asking the question: When the heck is Mike & Scott gonna get off their butts and draw? And I would have to respond: Good question.
Seriously, though, we have about 4 or 5 different scripts in development, and it took us this long to agree on 2 of them. Mike’s drawing that one now. We greatly apologize for the delay.

Another question you may have: When is issue #39 going to be fixed? And I would have to frustratingly answer: I honestly don’t know. Rest assured, I’m still annoying the heck out of Mike about it. Just remember this election season, when you go to the polls (or vote-by-mail like we do) to vote for me, because I fight for long run-on sentences just for you, because I’m a fighter, or you could say that I fight because it’s the right thing to do, but only on Tuesdays when the sun looks like a ball of banana tapioca jello shots or something of the sort but did you know that I can go on for a really long time like this though I probably shoudn’t because I’m just wasting your time but I’m currently in class and don’t really have anything better to do.

I Get No Respect

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

For those of you who care (a group which more than likely consists entirely of Scott, with the possible addition of his wife), issue #39 is “fixed” but I haven’t had a chance to upload the new version yet. That’s the first and last word I will publicly say regarding the matter.

The last few days have been insanely busy as I’ve been preparing for my role in a friend’s upcoming wedding (e.g., bachelor party, getting fitted for a tuxedo, etc.) and been working hard on all of my homework (which you might recall includes 4Komatose now).

An example of my recent days: yesterday I got up at 5:30. By 7:00 I was completely ready to walk out the door. I worked on homework until 10:30 and left for work. I got home at 4, got something to eat, and started back on my homework until I went to bed at 10:30. During that time I managed to finish half of the drawings for 4Komatose #41 (some of the fastest art I’ve ever done, I might add), write the script for #42, compile research and process books for two of the three projects I’m working on for my typography class, complete a ten-page assignment for the same class, and finish two chapters for my business class. The day before was roughly the same. Today is going that route as well. Tomorrow is my sister’s birthday, Friday is wedding rehearsal, and Saturday is the wedding.

I’ll post issue #41 as soon as possible, and #42 should actually be ready by next Tuesday. Of course, since the lion’s share of the work on any individual issue is mine (I am the sole artist, and a single issue can take anywhere from 20-40 hours, depending on the complexity), interruptions in my schedule mean interruptions in the comic schedule as well.

And that, in addition to updating faithful readers, is my roundabout way of saying that I have been anywhere but on my butt.

No Offense Intended

Today\’s post is more intended for Michael, than the rest of you out there in 4k-land.

Let me start off by saying it was not my intention to offend you by what I posted yesterday in regards to issue #39. If I did, I apologize.

It had been nearly a month since my last post (nearly 2 since yours), and felt our audience needed an update with any and all information I had regarding that subject. Especially since my previous 2+ posts had mentioned the issue getting fixed.

We’ve been fairly incommunicado with each other most of the last 3 months (outside of bowling), so I honestly had no idea whether the change had been made or not, nor, really, what the status was on it. I know I actually have irritated you with my prodding about this issue since I first saw it upon its release on March 10th. And I apologize for upsetting you (if I indeed have).

We have talked since this incident began all that time ago, and I do think that the new measures we have instituted will keep this problem from arising again. Even if it does, though, hopefully we will both be in a better place to have the time to be able to discuss the issues before posting… not to mention hang out more.

You’re my best friend… I miss you, man!

To everyone else… you heard the man say it to your left… new issue soon! and guaranteed next week!
‘Nuff said!

Boy, Is It Ever Tuesday!

Scott claims that the preceding story is true. I am somewhat more dubious.
