The Latest & Upcoming Greatest

Michael is finally married! Congratulations are in order to Michael and his beloved wife, Melissa. My wife, Amy, and I had a wonderful time helping them with their wedding reception, and it was quite the lovely event. We both wish them much love, happiness, and success in their new life together. =D

Both Michael and I are coming up on Dead Week at PSU. Michael is having probably the toughest term of his collegiate career. He is taking the hardest Accounting AND the hardest Finance classes this term. Add the whole getting married thing on top of it, and I hope you can understand why the comic, and this site, have been stagnant. I think my hardest term is actually going to be Spring Term, which begins on March 31st, as I am going to be taking nothing but 400-level Accounting courses as I get close to finishing school. I completed my IS requirements last summer, and am finishing the university requirements with this term. 5 Accounting classes (4 next term) are all I have left, and I will have 2 Bachelors of Science degrees. Yahoo!!! =D Commencement is in June, though I won’t actually graduate until August. But, regardless, I will be done!!!

For those of you wanting an update on my recovery since my surgery last October, you’ll be happy to know that I am coming along. The problem is that I’m still in recovery. On average, it takes a month to recover from that surgery. It is now closing in on 5 months for me. Mostly, I’m still dealing with a residual infection. It could be new since the surgery, or it could be part of the infection I’ve had since I first started getting sinus infections when I was 12. (FYI, Michael and I turn 30 in April. I’m trying to enjoy my last days as a twenty-something, but life keeps getting in the way.) I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

As to the comic, I have started work on new scripts again. Michael is still settling in at his new place with his wife, so an actual comic is still at least 3 weeks away, I’d say. This is strictly a guess. Only Michael knows for sure just how long he needs. But, I’d say April, at the latest, is looking good.

We’re also looking at creating a brand new website. Call it, 4komatose.com v3. We let OtakuRefuge.com fade away, as we were tired of wasting money on a project we just don’t see coming to fruition anytime this decade. But fear not, 4komatose is not going to fade away. We’re going to come back, better than ever! Just wait til you see some of the great stuff we have in store. I can’t wait to bring it to you.

Til next time, in the words of the great, mighty and all powerful Stan Lee, “Excelsior!”

Finals! Are!! Over!!!

Whew!

Thank God those are over and done with! Granted, I only had 1 Final I really had to worry about. And considering the difficulty of the test, and the sheer number of students in the class that were racing to finish as the teacher called for the exam back… I’m not alone.

To update you on where we are at with the comic and the site:

Scripts are being written. Issue #43 has been completely rewritten [it only took 6 or 7 drafts ;) ], and thus the percentages on the left have changed. Michael is going to be doing a little bit of a style change (again) in part to reflect the passage of time, and also to make the comic a little easier to get completed week to week. Which I think we cal all agree is a good thing. =D

I also have a HUGE announcement on the family front. And no, Amy and I are not pregnant… yet My younger brother, Chester Rogers Jr., has officially made it onto the 2008-09 PBA Tour. See the results here. He won the 2007-08 PBA Northwest Regional Tour, and thus gets an automatic exemption onto the Pro Tour this next season. How cool is that?

Congratulations, Chet!
