A Website in Transition

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Hello, everyone!

As long promised, the 4komatose website is finally in transition. We’ve mmade the move to WordPress/ComicPress, but have not yet gotten around to finalizing the design for the new website. However, it is a real pain updating two separate content management systems with identical data… especially when one is custom-built by yours truly, and the other is open source.

So, what does this mean for you? Well, immediately, it means access to all of the 4komaThoughts posts that you may have never seen, or might remember but had no historical access to. You can view just the 4komaThoughts, or just the comic. Your choice… at this point. In the long term, (read: after finals next week) we will begin work on constructing the new look and feel. So, don’t get too used to this default installation of ComicPress, as it will be going the way of the 4-panel + background real soon. (If you didn’t get that, go back and read some more 4komatose… then come back and see if you get it.) ;)

Cheers!

Definitely in Transition

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Well, there are still some issues with the website. Seeing as how I needed to be in bed an hour ago, I think I am going to stop working on the problem for the night and get to work on it at some point tomorrow. Thus, currently, only the current issue is viewable. Not entirely sure why. Something to do with the transition I imagine as it all worked fine in the temp site I worked up for it.

I’ll spend the day tomorrow trying to get it fixed. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Is It Really???

Well, it appears that everything has been fixed, and you can now view the back issues again. The error is naturally related to the move. I have simply patched the problem, but more work still needs to be done. Hopefully, my fixes in the future will not cause you any further pain as a user. ;)
